Michael McCarthy resigned after twenty-one years as a reporter and editor for the Wall Street Journal to further his education and to pursue other writing interests.

Born and raised in St. Louis, he is currently a Visiting Professor in the English Department at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The Sun Farmer is his first book.
